For a custom quote for an irregular size, three-quarter or full body length, or for things like highly detailed clothing, please get in touch. The sizes quoted can be modified according to your needs.

For those not local, there are two costs: for the artwork itself and for the packing and shipping. Payment is via check or PayPal. In the event of a price increase, the price listed at the time the portrait was commissioned will be honored.

PRICES AND DELIVERY

Below you'll find prices for some standard-sized portraits with a plain background. If you'd like a background let me know and I can give you a quote quote for this.) Portraits are supplied unframed.

A deposit of 40% is required for all commissions, the balance being paid upon approval and acceptance of the finished work. Although it hasn't happened yet, if for some reason you are not satisfied with the final portrait, your deposit will be refunded in full.

Ideally the reference image from which the portrait would be created is digital, although if it's not available, we can make do with a photo.

THE PROCESS

Get in touch with any questions, or if you'd like a quote. I'm always happy to chat and there's absolutely no obligation. If you decide to go ahead, we'll chat by phone or by email about how you want your portrait to appear in terms of size, pose and so on.

Take some photos to give me a rounded image of the subject, and so that we can choose one key image from which I can work. I'll need a picture taken on a digital camera (preferably not a phone camera) that's nice and close up and clear. When you have some images you think may be suitable, email them to me and we can have a discussion on which one might work best. When we've arrived at a decision on which image to use, I'll begin the portrait.

When I feel the portrait might be finished I'll make a scan of it and email the image for you to have a look. At this point you can let me know how you find the likeness or if there's anything you might like me to tweak or alter. I'll make any adjustments (and send you more scans to check) and when you're completely happy you can make the payment and I'll send your portrait straight out to you. Your portrait will be safely packaged and sent to you fully insured.

When I feel I have arrived at a point where I'm fairly happy with the portrait I'll send you a scan of it, and we can talk about anything you'd like me to alter. I always want to get the likeness spot on and portraits - particularly those done from photos where I don't actually meet the subject - are a very collaborative process. I want the patron to be completely happy.

Can I pick up my portrait in person?

Yes. If you live in the Nashville, TN area, you can collect your portrait in person if you'd prefer.
